Lately I’ve been working on showing up to events and social interactions with the mindset of connection instead of perfection.
When I told my therapist about my September schedule (packed with exciting events, mostly for my business) I was proud. These moments felt like the fruits of my labor finally blooming. But alongside the gratitude, there was this familiar hum of anxiety: What if people don’t think I’m deserving of these opportunities? What will they think of me?
My therapist paused and then said something that struck a chord:
“What if you went into these events with the intention of connecting with people, instead of being perfect?”
