Things Worth a Double Click
The items, recipes, and inspiration that stuck with me
I think I’m starting to grow out of my consumerism, or maybe just growing into my authenticity enough that I don’t feel inclined to impulse buy because of a really good subject line in a marketing email.
I know what I feel good in now, and I know what feels like me. Lately it usually takes about two weeks of a piece living in my head before I’m convinced I actually need it.
I’ve realized that if something stays on my mind for two weeks, it’s probably actually me and not just good marketing. The things that stick tend to become staples. The things that don’t… I usually forget existed.
Somewhere in my late twenties I stopped wanting more things and started wanting the right things. Fewer pieces, but the ones you reach for constantly.
Here are a few things that survived the two-week rule and have now become very important to me.
Margaux Demi Flat (the most comfortable brand of flats plus how wonderful are these?!)
The Horse Track Pants (as mentioned in my January Substack around the end of the matching set era)
Skims Tank Top (yeah I have 1 in each and need to purchase back ups)

And I’ve been an eBay girl! eBay scratches the same itch Pinterest used to for me, endless rabbit holes of things that already exist in the world. Browsing for all the sunglasses, hats, and activewear a girl could need. No one can beat the prices of second hand, and all you need is a sink with cold water and a cup of vinegar to kick the smell of the previous owner (and I say that with love!).
Some examples on what I would buy if I were you:
Let me tell you about my matcha recipe. This is what gets me out of bed in the morning, and officially kicked my coffee addiction.
Rocky’s Matcha or Ashu’s Matcha, I won’t settle for anything else. I sift and I whisk with hot (but not boiling) water
Healthy dash of this Maple Madagascar Vanilla Syrup
Top it off with whole milk and a pinch of Maldon Sea Salt

Some things I’m just admiring from afar for now. As you can tell, spring is on my mind.
These tank tops from Gumi. One of my stylish instructors wore hers the other day and I’m patiently awaiting a restock.

Quite literally everything from Olive Atelier’s new Tetbury House collection. Silver & dark brown is my favorite household combo.

Nananita tote bags, I have one in the mail on its way to me now.
I used to think good taste meant finding the newest thing. But, lately it feels more like knowing what’s worth bringing into your life at all.
Currently On My Mind
vintage t-shirt, capri leggings, flip flops
books that take you into a brand new world
showing love by way of baked goods (specifically olive oil cake)
noticing the new flowers popping up in your neighborhood
